REGEMAC© winner of the Road Innovation Competition 2011.

In 2011, REGEMAC © was declared winner of the French Road Innovation Competition. REGEMAC allow the production of PMB from aged bitumen. With REGEMAC, the reclaimed asphalt pavements are recycled without rate limiting. Chemically cross linked elastomeric binders are obtained. REGEMAC hot mix asphalt produced, offer a solution to the problems of the durability and firmness of wearing course with very heavy traffic.

A major innovation for a sustainable development of roads


Fenixfalt : une nouvelle vie pour la routeFENIXFALT© is the only competitive and efficient solution to regenerate used bitumen. It fits with sustainable development policies by enabling very high rates of hot recycling for asphalt (up to 100%), on all layers of the carriageways - including surface course -  and whatever the traffic category

FENIXFALT© RM / REGEFALT© was successively observed as major technical innovation in 2009 as part of a project presented at the Innovation Competition Road.

In 2011, REGEMAC© was declared winner of the Innovation Competition Road through a joint presentation with the company Roger MARTIN.

 

REGEMAC© recycles without rate limitation content, RAP in new asphalt concrete, regenerating old asphalt cement and by modifying the binder obtained by chemically cross linked elastomeric. The hot mix asphalt obtained respond to the wearing courses and especially those that support very heavy traffic.

 

 

With FENIXFALT, recycling asphalt at a high rate becomes a reality

  • Recycling 50% of used materials in the surface course of roads is now authorized (ruling from 09/02/09 of the MEEDDAT) for asphalt  plants equiped with recycling devices.

 

  • So far, 10/15 % maximum, with no guarantee of durability

 

  • Recycling up to 100 %* will be possible in 2015 with the new asphalt plant oven developped by FENIXFALT

    • compliant with environmental regulations, it will enable to heat directly the recycled asphalt pavement (RAP)

       

    • depending on the specifications of the used materials to be recycled, a 100 % recycling rate will become possible without addition of new materials (bitume and aggregates).

 After six years of service, auscultation of the wearing course was performed and many samples were taken for the realization of fatigue testing and measurement modules. The results found are either equivalent to the performance of a reference when commissioning or are improved. CEDEX (Centro de estudio y experimentación en carreteras / IFSTTAR equivalent) issued the study report:

“Informe técnico ‘Seguimiento de la obra de reciclado en caliente en la carretera N-525 enn la Provincia de ZAMORA’ Convenio de Estudio de las Técnicas de Reciclado de Firmes y Estabilización de Explanadas – Cedex 31-497-3-076 ”
